Sports Premium Funding
At South Camberley, we believe that high-quality PE and sport are central to developing confident, resilient, and healthy young people. The Sports Premium funding allows us to invest in opportunities that go beyond the classroom, giving every pupil the chance to be active, to discover new skills, and to take part in memorable experiences.
Over the past year, the Sports Premium has enabled us to:
-
Engage all pupils in regular physical activity through active walls, specialist lunchtime sports provision, and developing our forest school.
-
Raise the profile of PE and school sport with Sports Crew and Ambassador training, interhouse competitions, and whole-school events such as Sports Fortnight.
-
Increase staff confidence and knowledge with CPD including SOLD training and Commando Joe’s resilience programme.
-
Broaden pupils’ experiences of sport and activity through opportunities such as swimming, lacrosse, judo, climbing, dance workshops, and new equipment.
We are proud that feedback from Active Surrey highlighted our “highly positive engagement and effective use of the School Games Programme” and recognised that “a new love of physical activity at the school is evident.”
Looking ahead, we will continue to monitor and review provision to ensure it is equitable across sites, expand opportunities for girls’ football, and invest in facilities and training to keep PE at the heart of school life.
What we receive:
Schools receive a set payment, plus an additional £10 per pupil (in years 1 to 6).We are very proud of our PE and sports provision at South Camberley.
How we have spent the funding:
As a school we are accountable for how we will use this additional funding. Schools are required to publish online information regarding how they have used the premium and the impact it has made. In 2024/2025 we received £20900.
