Year 6 Residential - Day 2
It seems the previous day's activities did not fully wear out the children as we had some extremely early risers - although I am sure that having seen out today's activity programme I will be reporting back differently tomorrow!
With rooms cleared ready for a room inspection, and I must say we have been positively surprised by the tidiness thus far, we went down to breakfast. Another vast array of foods: cereals and hot cooked breakfast items ready for children to feast on, stocking up their energy levels for the activities ahead.
All groups this morning had water based activities which meant one and only one thing - WETSUITS! A plight we remember only too well from last year and despite our best tips and tricks a lengthy affair to ensure all pupils properly in and zipped into their wetsuits.
2 groups began the day with coasteering and it is always refreshing to see both pupils and staff challenging their comfort zones and overcoming fears when taking the jump over the edge of the cliff face.
The remaining 3 groups had a full morning and afternoon down on the beach in Swanage and took part in kayaking, raft building as well as both paddle and jumbo paddle boarding.
The weather has been phenomenal and Mr Buggs may have caught the sun a little! All looking forward to another full day of water-based activities on Wednesday!
Photos taken from each day are being uploaded to our Photo Gallery section of the website.
