Sports Ambassadors
Our Sports Ambassadors are a group of motivated Year 5 and 6 pupils who play a key role in promoting sport, physical activity and leadership across the school. They act as role models, helping to ensure that all children have the opportunity to take part, enjoy being active and represent the school with pride.
Our ambassadors take on a range of important responsibilities:
Supporting and leading lunchtime activities, including helping to run our weekly interhouse competitions.
Assisting with school events such as Sports Day and whole-school events like the Santa Dash, helping to organise and lead activities.
Helping at school fixtures and festivals, including supporting staff, organising equipment and encouraging participants.
Visiting the infant sites twice a term to lead and support physical activity with younger pupils.
Acting as pupil voice for sport, sharing ideas and feedback to help improve provision across the school.
Meeting half-termly with staff to plan duties, review events and agree next steps for sport and physical activity.
Our Sports Ambassadors also benefit from a range of opportunities to develop their leadership skills. They take part in Sports Crew training through Active Surrey and are rewarded with enrichment experiences. This has included trips to Wembley Stadium this year and the Kia Oval in previous years. They have also been able to go to Kings International College and take part in organised tournaments led by their young leaders.
Through their work, Sports Ambassadors help to build a positive sporting culture across the school, supporting both participation and performance while developing confidence, responsibility and teamwork.
