Year 6

Brian Moses Visit – 11th October 2017

On Wednesday 11th October Brian Moses, who is a well-known poet, came into our school. He read out some of his poems to us that are based around World War 1 and World War 2.This was really interesting because we have been looking at Britain at war in our topic. I thought the poems were really good!

Harvest Festival – 9th October 2017

Our Harvest festival this year was focused on not wasting food. We presented to the Year 3s and parents about how much food is thrown away in the UK and about how we can make use of leftovers so that we don’t throw food away. Some of the year 6s had made banana bread using left over bananas and this was handed out to parents at the end. We also sang songs and lots of people bought in food donations that could go to a charity.

Kings PE Ambassadors Visit to South Camberley – 5th October 2017

We were really lucky to have the Kings PE ambassadors in the next day to hold some PE sessions with us and talk to us about what PE was like at Kings and all of the fun things that we could do. There were lots of different activities like skipping, hurdles and ladder runs. Our two days with Kings were a blast!

Year 6 Visit to Kings – 4th October 2017

So far this has been one of my best highlights from year 6. We went on Wednesday 4th October 2017 to Kings. We had history and this was fun as we had to debate about the space race between the USA and Russia. Next we had Art where we created a painting of a supernova. I really enjoyed this because the paintings we made were amazing! To end the day, I actually had to dance! This was fun too because we got to work in pairs or groups to help each other.
