The Junior Campus Retreat

Last year the School Council in the Junior Campus informed the staff that they wanted more things to do at lunchtimes. In response to the School Council requests the staff at the Junior Campus have worked hard to improve their lunch times. At the start of the school year we opened The Retreat - our brand new lunch time club. The club has been buzzing with children every lunch time. Children from all year groups are invited to attend and participate in a range of different activities including dressing up, reading, board games and arts and crafts. Outside, on the playground, new stations have been set up; a quiet area for Year 3 children where they can play a range of quiet games such as Lego and K'Nex or writing and drawing activities. On the main courts we now have a huff and puff area where children can use bigger equipment such as stilts, hoops, skipping ropes and ribbons. In addition to the huff and puff area we also have a sports area where children can play basketball, netball and football during their break times. The children have informed us that they are much happier now that there is more equipment to play with and more things to do. Have a look at some of our photos to see our new and improved lunchtimes in action!
